A Message Regarding Recent Internet Trolling
Last week we posted that the store was not associated with anyone named Heather. Since Monday February 7th, we have gotten messages, comments, and reviews about someone named Heather owning the store and bullying people online.
Tuesday, February 15th, we discovered a social media account from someone using the name Heather Rauley; they have been online for at least a week claiming that they are an owner of the store. This person has also gone as far as to include photos from our store from Google, the website, and Facebook - including a photo of Shelley taken by a vendor - in their false representation of the store.
We as a store do not use that particular social media platform (and you hear us preach against it in the store and for those with personal accounts - watch cat videos). We also have NO ONE in the store, in ownership, readers, and staff by the name of Heather Rauley. We have never employed anyone by the name Heather Rauley. This “Heather” person has bullied other creators on social media and said some truly horrible, vile things that we never in a million years would condone while using the name of our store. We are a safe space for everyone and are absolutely disgusted that someone would do this and say they things they did. The account is currently offline/taken down.
This is an attack on our family, our name, our staff, our customers, and quiet frankly our livelihood. We feel violated. We often say (using a line from “Game of Thrones”) “the internet is dark and full of terrors.” We never expected ourselves to be victims of that.
Rest assured - we are in contact with the authorities (and Google Business) on this and are figuring out our next steps.
We are posting this on several platforms. We also will do our best to get back to our regularly scheduled store content.
Thank you again for your continued love and support. We can’t wait to see you in the store.
Shelley, Mark, and Caitlin
MASKS ARE STILL REQUIRED IN THE STORE
With all the changes going on in the city and the state regarding masks, we want to share our policy. We are still going to require that you wear a mask in the store. This is for everyone's safety. If you forgot your mask, we do have extras.
Curbsibe pickup is not available.
We thank you all for your understanding and support! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Stay tuned for more new goodies. facebook.com/crystalscandlescauldrons
